My Story

My journey into brows began in 2010, when I first discovered threading. While on a makeup course, I learned the technique from a girl from Pakistan during our lunch breaks. It wasn’t something that was formally taught or widely recognised as a qualification at the time, but I was immediately fascinated by the precision and artistry of the technique. As threading grew in popularity, I went on to complete my formal threading qualification to further develop and professionalise the skills I had already been practising. Today, threading has become a more specialised and less common technique, with many salons opting for waxing instead. However, I’ve always remained committed to it because of the incredible precision it offers and how gentle it is on the skin, making it ideal for clients with sensitive skin or those using stronger skincare such as retinol or Accutane.

Skincare has always been another huge passion of mine. Having experienced my own skin challenges with PCOS and hormonal acne, I spent years learning about targeted skincare and how to support the skin in a balanced, holistic way. This personal journey led me to expand my work into facials in 2024, specialising in lymphatic facial massage. After experiencing the benefits myself, I was inspired by how powerful these treatments can be for reducing puffiness, improving skin health and supporting overall wellness.

Today, Rachel Cowan Brows & Facials is built around the idea of creating a calm, cosy space where clients can feel completely at ease. In an industry that can sometimes feel overwhelming, clinical or intimidating, I wanted to create somewhere that feels like a home from home. A place where you can relax, reset your nervous system, and leave feeling confident in your natural beauty.

I’m incredibly grateful for the loyalty of my clients and the relationships that have grown over the years. Being a people person is a huge part of what I love about my work, and it means so much that so many of my clients return time and time again.
